I'm Alex. I make documentary photographs of places and the people who keep them running. Most of my work is long-form — six to twenty months on a single series — and most of it is shot on film. I publish a series only when it's finished.

I've spent the last eight years working in Australia and Southeast Asia, mostly on stories about labour, coastline, and the night. I take on a small number of commissions each year for editorial and environmental portrait work.
